Our Story
From a single premix machine to 568 million lives
1979
The Beginning
Dr. Carlos Eduardo Mesa founded Premex in MedellÃn, Colombia. The mission: Produce better, more affordable protein through nutrition science and technology. The tool: the first premix machine in the alliance.
1980-2008
Iluma Alliance Grows
Iluma Alliance grows across disciplines: animal nutrition, life sciences, applied research, driven by curiosity and a shared belief in the power of knowledge.
2009
Nutreo is Founded
Nutreo is founded as the alliance's first company focused exclusively on human nutrition & health. Built on the same scientific foundation, with a new focus: functional ingredients and finished products for people.
